# Create Icertis Agreements from Vera Engage

> Assemble Icertis agreement records from an open Word document without leaving Vera Engage.

For customers with the Icertis integration configured, Vera Engage can create an agreement record in Icertis directly from the document you are working on. It reads the open document, proposes the attribute values, and holds the assembled record for your review before anything is written.

## Two ways to create an agreement

    Ask Vera to create an agreement from a template. It searches similar agreements, pre-fills the terms it can determine, and assembles a draft for your review before anything is written.

    No file upload is needed. Icertis assembles the document from the template.

    Point Vera at the counterparty's uploaded document and it creates the record from that file. No template is needed.

<Warning>
  Incompatible combinations are rejected before any drafting occurs, with a clear reason. The two that come up most often:

  * Third-party paper with **no** file attached
  * Your own paper **with** an uploaded file

## Attributes come from the open document

When a document is open in Word, Vera lifts the Icertis attributes from it and identifies the source of each value, so you can check its work.

* Retrieved values are filled in automatically, including amounts and currency codes in separate fields.
* You are prompted only for what is genuinely missing.
* The assembled record is held for your review. Nothing reaches Icertis until you confirm.

  Values are shown with the section they came from (for example, a Total Fixed Fee traced to §9.1) so you can verify a figure without hunting for it.

## Template and flags

The agreement record includes a set of template and flag attributes:

**Mandatory before submission:** Customer Name, Legal Entity Name, Agreement Duration in Days.

**Read-only / system-populated:** Order Number, Customer Id, auto-populated address fields, Currency\_ContractValue, Currency\_ICMGIOrderNetAmount, External Id, Contract Type Display Name.

## After the record is assembled

Vera offers three next steps:

1. **Submit to Icertis** to create the agreement, once you confirm or update the values.
2. **Change the counterparty** and re-source the suggestions from a different prior agreement.
3. **Evaluate which template** the rule engine would auto-bind given these attributes.
